Stephenson, a charismatic man who rose to power quickly, was the mastermind behind bringing the group out of the shadows as their message was proudly endorsed from church pulpits, family picnics, and town celebrations. However, it was a seemingly insignificant woman who revealed his secret cruelties and brought the KKK to their knees.
