Beloved local author Susan Van Kirk has published the first in a new series, “Death in a Pale Hue.” Inspired by the Buchanan Center for the Arts and its recent restoration, Van Kirk has written a small town whodunnit about artist Jill Madison returning to her hometown of Apple Grove to manage the new community art center. Jill’s first task is to make the art center safe, but when a dead body is found in the basement, she finds herself in the path of the killer. Supported by a likeable cast of characters and a small-town setting, can Jill manage the new art center, run her first big event, and escape a killer who plans to paint her out of the picture permanently?
