Ancestry.com: Library Edition is a special collection of records available to patrons for free through the library. This resource provides access to billions of historical documents, millions of historical photos, plus local narratives, oral histories, indexes and other resources in over 30,000 databases that span from the 1500s to the 2000s.

eRead Illinois a cooperative program that expands access to e-books for Illinois residents. More than 400 RAILS and IHLS libraries currently participate in eRead Illinois on the Boundless platform (formerly Axis 360).
The company that develops and manages the Boundless platform, Baker & Taylor, announced that they are winding down operations and sunsetting the Boundless platform by the end of 2025. Due to the sudden closure of Baker & Taylor, RAILS needs to immediately relocate the eRead Illinois program. As of now, you cannot check out new books or place holds in the Boundless app, and you have until November 17th to gather information and finish current checkouts.
The Palace Project app will replace Boundless, and patrons will have access to the eRead Illinois collection on the Palace Project app beginning December 2.
