Get Your Library Card

To register for a library card, renew an expired library card, or replace a lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed library card at the Warren County Public Library, please bring two forms of identification, at least one of which bears your name and address.

Examples of acceptable identification include:

  • Driver’s license
  • Utility bills
  • Mail
  • Voter’s registration card

Youth may receive their first library card upon entering kindergarten.

Youth under the age of 16 must have a parent/legal guardian’s signature on any initial application for a library card. The application must be completed with both the youth and adult present in the Library.

Youth under the age of 16 may use the proof of residency provided by a parent or legal guardian. Youth 16 and over may choose to provide their own proof of residency, or to use that of a parent/legal guardian.

The Warren County Public Library card is good at any of our branches. As members of the Resource Sharing Alliance (RSA) consortium, our library card is also accepted at most west central Illinois public libraries, including:

  • Galesburg Public Library
  • Henderson County Public Library
  • Edwards River Public Library (Mercer County)
  • Macomb Public Library

Eligibility

Warren County Public Library cards are available to:

  • All Warren County residents and property owners.
    • A child may receive his/her library card upon entering Kindergarten.
  • Monmouth College students.

Persons owning other Illinois Public Library cards will be allowed to check out materials. Non-residents may purchase a family card.

Lost or Damaged Cards

The charge to replace a lost library card is $1.00.
