The Power of Reading and Writing to Change Us From the Inside Out.
Award-winning author of 26 books, Jane Kurtz will talk about how books set her parents (both Monmouth College students) on an amazing path of international travel, shaped her own life, and helped her start the first children's libraries in Ethiopia.

John Hallwas
Doing Justice to Outlaws: The Writing of Dime Novel Desperadoes.
John Hallwas will give a compelling talk about his new book, "Dime Novel Desperadoes: The Notorious Maxwell Brothers." Book signing will follow. This event will take place at the Buchanan Center for the Arts.

Looking for a new way to search for your books, movies, or music? Try Destiny Quest! It contains the same information as our catalog but presents it in a fun, engaging way. See new books, login to your account, browse the virtual shelves. To begin click on “Destiny Quest” on the left hand side of the screen of the Catalog page (below "Library Search").

New Databases at the Library
WilsonSelectPlus and Novelist/Novelist K-8 are new online resources to explore.
WilsonSelectPlus
contains many full-text periodical articles in science, humanities, education and business.
Novelist and Novelist K-8 (in library only) or
Novelist and Novelist K-8 (at home)
are searchable databases of fiction titles. Both contain book reviews, recommended reading lists, and book discussion guides. Novelist K-8 is designed for teachers and students.
You can use both resources at home, but user names and passwords are required. Contact the library to learn these codes. 309-734-3166 or email lgood@wcplibrary.org

Friends of the Library Meeting
The Friends is a dedicated group of community volunteers who support the library. Do you love the library? We welcome you to join us, whether child, teen, or adult. We meet each 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month at 7pm at the Warren County Public Library.
